Flywrite is a beautiful markdown writing app with a real terminal for running Claude Code, Codex or any CLI agent to help you create your best work.
Video walkthrough coming soon
the whole loop, in a couple of minutes
If you write with your agent, you shouldn't have to do it in a coding app. Flywrite brings the same workflow to an app made for writing.
Write in a clean rendered view, where your markdown reads like the finished piece. Or flip to classic source mode when you want to see the raw markdown. One keystroke switches between them.
Run the actual Claude Code, Codex, or any CLI agent, with your subscription, your skills, and your memory. It sees what you've selected and edits your files directly, while you keep hand‑editing right alongside it.
Flywrite checkpoints your work before an agent touches anything. See exactly what changed, restore any earlier version. Hand the keys to an agent without holding your breath.
Light mode or dark mode. Full control over fonts, color themes, and the app layout. Tune the whole studio to the way you like to write.
You never have to write a git command. It's automatic or a push of a button.
Every function in Flywrite has a keyboard shortcut, and every shortcut is customizable. A command palette puts it all one keystroke away.
Hi, I'm Brian.
I make my living writing: newsletters, YouTube scripts, courses. And these days, Claude Code is my collaborator on nearly all of it.
But I never liked creating in a code editor. Cursor and VS Code are built for shipping software. Prose deserves better than a clunky preview pane in a dev tool.
So I built the writing experience I actually wanted: calm and paper‑like where I write, a real terminal right below it where my agent assists, and everything quietly checkpointed and synced to GitHub the way I'm used to.
I hope you love writing in Flywrite as much as I do.
