Privacy Policy
Flywrite is made by CasJam Media LLC, a Connecticut company ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Flywrite website, your Flywrite account, and the Flywrite app, and how we use it.
The short version
- Your documents stay on your computer. Flywrite does not upload your writing to us.
- We collect only what we need to sell you a license, run your account, deliver updates, and support you.
- We don't sell your personal information.
Your documents
Flywrite projects are ordinary folders of files on your computer. The app does not send your documents to us. If you connect a project to a Git remote (such as your own repository on a code hosting service), the app syncs your files to that remote, which you control. If you use an AI agent or other command-line tool in Flywrite's terminal, that tool runs under your own account with its provider, and its provider's terms and privacy policy apply.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, a securely hashed password, and any team members you invite by email.
- Purchase and billing details: your purchases, subscription status, invoices, and any billing name, address, or tax ID you add. Card payments are handled by our payment processor; we don't see or store your full card number.
- License and device details: when you activate the app, it sends your license key, an anonymized device identifier (a one-way hash, not your computer's serial number), your computer's name, the app version, and your operating system type. The app checks your license and looks for updates periodically. Your activated devices are listed in your account so you can manage them.
- Website usage: we use a privacy-friendly analytics service to count page visits. It doesn't use cookies or track you across other sites.
- Messages you send us: if you email us or use the support form, we keep that conversation so we can help you.
- Technical logs: like most websites, our servers keep standard request logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to keep the service running and secure.
How we use it
We use your information to process purchases, provide and secure your account and license, deliver app updates, send account and billing emails (receipts, renewal reminders, password resets, and similar), answer support requests, and improve Flywrite. We may also email you about Flywrite itself; you can unsubscribe from those emails at any time.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run Flywrite, and only as needed for them to do that work. These include our payment processor, email delivery service, analytics provider, web font provider, and hosting and storage providers. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.
Cookies
Our website doesn't use tracking cookies. Your Flywrite account uses a cookie to keep you signed in.
Keeping your data
We keep account and purchase records for as long as you have an account and as needed for legal, tax, and accounting purposes. We use reasonable measures to protect your information, but no service can guarantee perfect security.
Your choices
You can view and update your account details in your account. To ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account, email [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we'll honor them.
Children
Flywrite is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the date at the bottom of this page.
