Getting started
You have a Flywrite license โ here's how to go from zero to writing in a couple of minutes.
Download and install
- Sign in at account.flywrite.app/login โ you land on your License page, which has the download link (and your license key, which you'll need in a moment).
- Open the download and drag Flywrite into your Applications folder.
- Open Flywrite.
Activate
On first launch, Flywrite asks for your license key. Copy it from your License page, paste it in, and click Activate. That's it โ this device is activated and you're ready to write.
You can use the same key on more than one computer. For how activation works โ and how to move to a new machine โ see Licenses & devices.
Optional: set up an AI agent
Flywrite is a complete writing app on its own. If you want an AI collaborator, install Claude Code (or Codex, Cursor Agent, or any CLI agent) and run it in Flywrite's built-in terminal โ see Writing with Claude Code.
Next steps
- Add your first project and take a quick tour of the app.
- On a team? See Team & seats to invite members and assign license keys.
